A dry rosé from Merlot alone, pale pink and bright, made by light pressing and a cool fermentation. The grapes are grown on the estate vineyards at Găvănoasa, in southern Moldova. Fresh red fruit and rose petals, with moderate acidity and a fruity, easy character.

The producer

Château Cristi

Château Cristi was founded in 1882 by Vladimir Cristi, a mayor of Chișinău. The estate farms 120 hectares near Găvănoasa, in Valul lui Traian in the south of Moldova, with twelve grape varieties. Its estate wines are harvested by hand, kept to six tonnes a hectare and aged six to twelve months in oak.
