Podgoria Vin

Cantemir, Valul lui Traian, Moldova

Their journey

The story

Podgoria Vin works 450 hectares of vineyards around Cantemir, in Valul lui Traian in the south of Moldova. It grows its own grapes, picks them by hand and makes its own wine. Its international varieties are Rhein Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Kerner, Aligoté, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Saperavi, and beside them grow the native Fetească Albă, Regală and Neagră, Viorica and Rară Neagră.

From them it makes single variety wines and blends across four lines. Libera is a tribute to the free spirit of those who dare to explore, and Genesis is named for the four forces the estate sees at work in the vine: light, water, air and earth. Blossom Stories is its Viorica, and Aborigi, a tribute to the estate's own land, holds single variety wines and blends that have won gold medals at international competitions.
